Tangerine peel, also known as broad tangerine peel or orange peel, is called pericarp or orange peel if it has a shelf life of less than three years, and only tangerine peel if it has a shelf life of three years or more is called tangerine peel. "Chen Pi has a pungent, bitter taste, and a warm nature. It has the effects of regulating qi, invigorating the spleen, and eliminating dampness and phlegm. It is mainly used for symptoms such as chest and abdominal fullness, lack of food, vomiting, diarrhea, and cough and phlegm caused by qi stagnation in the spleen and stomach.".

Tangerine peel can be used to make tangerine peel cakes, tangerine peel sugar, tangerine peel plums, tangerine peel ginger, or used in soups, cooking, or directly used to make tea, which also has a fragrant and mellow taste.
